How Email Validation Works
When a user enters an email address in your form, ZeroBounce uses AI and machine learning to analyze the email and return a comprehensive validation status. Orbit AI then applies your configured blocking rules.Verification Results
| Status | Description | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Valid | Email exists and can receive mail | Allowed |
| Invalid | Email does not exist or is invalid | Blocked |
| Spam Trap | Known spam trap email address | Configurable |
| Abuse | Email with history of abuse/complaints | Blocked |
| Disposable | Temporary/throwaway email address | Configurable |
| Do Not Mail | General undeliverable classification | Blocked |
Blocking Options
Configure which types of emails to block on the Integrate tab of each form. Each option gives you fine-grained control over the quality of email addresses you accept.Block free email addresses
Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. This blocks emails from free providers like Gmail or Yahoo. Use this if you only want business emails. Example:[email protected] would be blocked, but [email protected] would be allowed.
Block role accounts
info@, support@, admin@, etc. This blocks generic email addresses that aren’t tied to a real person. Role accounts are typically managed by multiple people or automated systems, making them less valuable for personal outreach. Example:[email protected] or [email protected] would be blocked, but [email protected] would be allowed.
Block spam traps
Known spam trap addresses Spam traps are fake email addresses used to catch spammers. If someone enters one, it’s likely they’re not a real lead. This protects your sender reputation from being flagged as a spammer. Why this matters: Sending to spam traps can severely damage your email deliverability and may result in your domain being blacklisted by email providers.Block disposable emails
Temporary/throwaway addresses Disposable emails are temporary addresses that expire after a short time. People use them to avoid giving their real email. These leads have very low value since you won’t be able to reach them again. Example:[email protected] or [email protected] would be blocked.
User Experience
Email verification happens seamlessly as users fill out your form. Here’s what they experience:Valid Email
A green checkmark appears next to the email field, indicating the address is valid. The user can proceed with submission.
Invalid Email
An error message explains why the email was rejected. The user must enter a valid email address to continue.
