What the Inbox Shows
The Inbox lists your email conversations with contacts, newest activity first. A conversation groups:- Emails you sent from Orbit (a contact record’s Email tab, or the Inbox itself)
- Replies and new emails from contacts, forwarded in from your mailbox
- Emails you sent from Gmail or Outlook and BCC’d to your Orbit forwarding address
Emails from contacts only reach the Inbox when your mailbox forwards to Orbit. See Email Forwarding Setup.
Reading a Conversation
Messages from the contact sit on a shaded background; yours on white. Each message shows the sender, the recipients, the time and, for emails sent from Orbit, the delivery status (Delivered, Opened, Replied). Two badges can appear on a received message:
Remote images are not loaded until you press Load images, so a tracking pixel does not fire just because you opened the message.
Replying
The reply box answers the latest message in the conversation. Press Reply on an earlier message to answer that one instead. Replies go out from your sending address on the workspace’s verified domain, carry the threading headers the contact’s mail client expects, and are saved to the contact’s record as sent emails. Replying needs a verified sending domain (Settings → Sending Domain) and editor access. Viewers can read but not send.My Inbox vs Everyone
My inbox (the default) shows the conversations from your own mailbox and the emails you sent. Everyone shows the whole workspace’s conversations, subject to the record access rules your admin set: you only see conversations with contacts you are allowed to see.Contact Records
The same conversations appear on each contact’s Email tab, with the composer on top, and as emails on the contact’s activity timeline. Company and deal timelines show the headline of each email too.Settings
- Save emails from contacts (per mailbox, Settings → Calendar → Reply Tracking): turn off to keep reply detection without storing messages.
- Unknown senders, Ignored addresses and the Inbound log (workspace, Settings → Inbound Email): see Email Forwarding Setup.
